CFMX 7.0.2 - JRun

I have a client running CFMX 7.0.2 Standard Edition (no Cummulative Hot Fixes applied).

I noticed that this particular version is utilizing JRun 4 Updater 5. I don't know if Updater 5 came bundled with CFMX 7 - it's an assumption at this point.

An application on this server has a piece of code that is generating a lot of java.lang.IllegalStateException errors in the logs - however the end users don't seem to be affected by this as we haven't received an email in over a year regarding this error when this piece of code is running.

After doing some searching I see that JRun Updater 6/7 seems to address this issue.

I'm wondering if there is any reason why I cannot apply JRun Updater 7 - I'm a little confused still as to whether JRun needed to be installed separately from CFMX 7 in order to use / apply the JRun Updaters.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks everyone that clears it up nicely - I see that the CF 7.0.2 Cummulative Hot Fix 3 lists the following Id Item:

    65114 IllegalStateException hot fix

But for the life me can't find any additional information regarding this ID Number (65144) - this could possibly also resolve the issue I'm having.

    I also wonder the question.

When I check the JRun documentations in the page http://www.adobe.com/products/jrun/productinfo/faq/eod/ I have following summary.

    - JRun will not have any new "standalone" features.
    - ColdFusion will continue to run on JRun J2EE server.
    - When there is a need to update JRun to resolve an isse in CF, there would be an update. (But I think this update will be reflected as CF update.)

What I also guess is that you can still update the JRun which you have with your multi server installation. But I do not think that you are able to update standalone CF installations via a JRun updater.

There is more than one version of ColdFusion, one that runs on top of another Java system (JRun or others) and one that comes with a "bundled" version of JRun.

As I understand it, the JRun updates should not be run on the bundled version. The ColdFusion updates are what you would want to run.
