Hi Everyone,
i still have not found a solution to this. if anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.
Also i would like to report this as a bug, what is the proper procedure for reporting this?

thanks to all

Tim

Original- Hi All,
i have had issues since upgrading from 6 to 7 with cfschedule. sometimes it runs fine, other times it will run the same task multiple times in a row, other times it will wait an hour then run the same task again.

This may not sound like a big deal, but the tasks send out several thousands of emails. talk about spam!!

I have been screamed at on a weekly basis to make this stop.

Now since the the DST change, the tasks that were scheduled at 3pm run at 3pm and again at 4pm!!

Please someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks in advance.
Tim

    Hi All,
after restoring the system completly from backup, CF would not run.
So we removed it completely and installed if from scratch.
We restored the CFM code and database.

This fixed it :) i guess i should have done this from the begining.
So i have no idea what the issue was, lets just hope it does not come back.

Thanks to all who gave suggestions and help,
Good luck to those of you who are still having this issue, if you get tired of trying to find the solution, just format and start over.
This was much less painfull than trying to fix this issue.

    Regards,
    Tim

The problem I'm seeing isn't being triggered by Verity (although I've had to resolve problems like that similarly). What I've been able to figure out so far is that it only affects servers that were upgraded from CFMX6.1 to CFMX7. We have 2 sets of these running on Win 2003. We also have 1 set that were installed fresh because the old OS was Windows 2000 server. The problem doesn't exist there so it must be something in the upgrade process. Maybe some registry entry that didn't get deleted. I'll be looking.

I also applied the latest hotfix, chf7020002, this morning but it didn't fix it.

I am having the same problem but only on 1 of our CF servers.

This may not be related to the problems you're having but I was able to track down a similar problem in the past. My problem was a scheduled task page was being indexed by a search program. When the page was accessed by the indexing at the same time every week it was executing the scheduled task and running the query to email out notices. The people getting the emails were not very happy (doh). Anyhow I just put a URL param check in the code that the searching index wouldn't have, this fixed it.

Yes the white space thing happens. Be nice to see it fixed. Just delete it all out of there.

I am having a similar issue, in which a CFschedule that is set to run just once (through interval="once") 11 minutes into the future sometimes executes the target template multiple times. So far, it's been executing the target template anywhere from once (as it should) to nine (!) times.

Yikes. And what a hassle to the website's users.

    Hi
I will give that a try tonight.

Also the reoccuring field in the time text box, there is tons of extra white space before the field value. has anyone else seen this?

I will update tomorrow after the task run again.

Have you tried deleting the task and recreating it?

    Hi,
sorry i forgot to update once i recreated all the scheduled tasks.

and of course that didnt fix it.

one of the tasks is set to run each Tuesday at 3:35pm
it ran twice on Tuesday once at 3:35 and again at 4:35 then yesterday it ran again at 9:35 am

it looks like its using Cron scheduler, is there no log file or config file for that?
    Adobe please fix this issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    thanks to all

Change your scheduled task start date to a date AFTER March 12. 2007.

Watch your tasks that need to run on a specific day.

Adobe is aware of this issue and are looking into it.

I have had a similar issue and although I wouldn't call this a cure with certainty, it did seem to fix my immediate problem. Our CF7 server has 50+ scheduled tasks that execute at different intervals. I was having an issue with a database import with email notification running multiple times. I could not find a single issue until I noticed that there were a significant number of tasks with the same start time on the same interval as the one causing the problem. In an attempt to fix it I offset the start time by 2 minutes and adjusted the interval to an odd number. I haven't had a multiple occurrence since.
