The earlier section (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Developing/WSe61e35da8d31851852cc9f7d1353e88b409-7fd9.html) said that you must specify version=2 for new charts. why do these examples not show that?

The document will be rectified. Usage of version as an attribute will be discontinued.
