ColdFusion 10 install error

When attempting to install ColdFusion 10, I get the following error:

Installation Complete

---------------------

The installation of Adobe ColdFusion 10 is complete, but some errors occurred

during the install.

See the installation log for details.  It can be found in

/usr/local/coldfusion10/Adobe_ColdFusion 10_InstallLog.log.

This file is available only after you exit from the installer.

Press Enter to exit the installer:

that log file has the following:

Execute Script/Batch file:   Change seed.properties available only to install user

                          Status: ERROR

Additional Notes: ERROR - Error while attempting to execute the installation script

What would cause that? Is there a work around for this?

I'm installing this on Centos 5.8 64-bit, Apache 2.2.

Thanks!

Hi,

CF 10 is not supported on CentOS.

Please refer the Support Matrix:

http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/coldfusion/pdfs/cf10/coldfusion10-support-matrix.pdf

Having said that, this can also be related to permissions that specific user is granted, with which CF 10 is being install. Make sure you have root privilidges and the install directory too has complete authority for the install to take place.

But we will still advice you to be on a supported environment for CF 10.

HTH.

I've tried installing it on RHEL 6.1 and 6.2 and I'm getting the same errors.

I think this is related having the cPanel control panel installed on the server. I was able to have both installed and working with CF9, but CF10 seems to have problems with it. Is there a way to pinpoint what exaclty causes this error?

Thanks!

I've had similiar but not the exact same error - I'm on Windows - but I quickly threw the towel in, downloaded CF again and reinstalled, and it was fine.

Maybe try that.
