is there a mailing list for ColdFusion update release announcements? Adobe Security Notification Service doesn't seem to include them.

No. But people in the CF community tend to retweet news like this, and there's an RSS feed on that blog listed above, which is where things tend to get announced. That should help keep track.

Also a lot of people will mention new releases in their blogs fair promptly after a release.
