We are using coldfusion 11 and unable to upgrade to latest Java version 1.8..0_422. Is open jdk will work or only oracle jdk?

    Hi @anitha_8594 ,

If Oracle JDK doesn't work, then chances are that Open JDK will not work either.

The key is ColdFusion 11's update level. Check it.

To do so, open the ColdFusion Administrator, and click on the (i) in the top right-hand corner. Is your ColdFusion 11 installation Update 3 or higher? If not, that will explain why you are unable to upgrade ColdFusion 11 to the latest Java Version 1.8..0_422. For ColdFusion 11 to be able to use Java 8, ColdFusion needs to be at Update 3 or higher. Otherwise, you should either raise the update level or else use Java 7.

    Hello Anitha,

ColdFusion 11 is not supported with Open JDK, you need to download Java from the Adobe site , please download JDK 8U431 from below link

    https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-downloads.html#downloads3

    Thanks & Regards

Thanks, our appreciation is not using Java but there is a Java package in coldfusion path. Is that support only oracle jdk? Or that too to download from coldfusion site?

    Hello Anitha,

ColdFusion is by default shipped with Oracle JDK, if you are looking to update the Java used by ColdFusion you need to download it from Adobe ColdFusion site.

    Thanks & Regards
