Question

ColdFusion and Connect:Direct (a.k.a NDM - Network Data Mover)

Hi All,

Our client is looking for an alternate for FTP and it seems they might go for IBM's Connect:Direct (previously known as NDM - Network Data Mover).

Can anyone share the feasibility of accomodating this Connect:Direct software as an replacement for current FTP activities?.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you've given enough information for people to give you useful responses. Are you asking about how CF interacts with this product? (Answer: it doesn't directly, you'd have to use CFEXECUTE.) Are you asking about using this to replace FTP server functionality on your server? Is this for public or internal use? Etc, etc.

    Thanks Dave!..

We are actually looking forward to replace our current FTP server with NDM, and its for one of our internal apps.

    Any thoughts?.

    Thanks in advance!

What does NDM do for you that FTP doesn't? What problems are you having with FTP? Have you considered using other tools (rsync, robocopy, Windows file synchronization, etc)?
