Coldfusion Installation Issue

I work for a company that develops a HR system. We use Coldfusion for the web access connection to the system and as such I have had to install Coldfusion numerous times.

Every installation on Windows XP SP2 has the same issue with port 51010 (now 51011 on MX7) being blocked.
Admittedly I've not had the problem on the few times I've installed on Windows 2000.

I can manually work around this using the Tech note linked below:

........ but to be honest it became a hassle after the 2nd time of having to do this.

I know others have had the same problem as I've seen posts on the forums.
I've used different downloads of Coldfusion MX6, 6.1 and now 7 but no change.

Is this a problem with ColdFusion or Windows XP, and is a fix planned for this (other than the manual work around)??

Bit of an update.
All of the computers I've been installing on have been at my place of work on a network (thanks for the suggestion 'dpretlor' but the Windows firewall is disabled on these computers). All the computers use NOD32 for security.

I tried installing Coldfusion MX7 on my home computer, which is just a stand alone, with Windows Firewall on and using Avast for the antivirus software.
All installed fine, with no issues.

So in a slight amendment to my original question, is there any known issues with particular security programs?

We do not really track any issues for specific security programs. The best thing to do is always turn off any firewall or antivirus software while installing ColdFusion. That will make sure that needed ports are open and can be used. After installation is done you can fire up your security programs again.

Never had this problem before on Windows XP SP2...however, just taking a stab in the dark, have you tried unblocking the port using the windows firewall?
