Question

ColdFusion Server won't restart

We rebooted our server last week after installing MS security patches. Our CF server didn't start up like it normally does. Tried rebooting and starting it from a batch file but that didn't help.

The system event log shows this error:

"The Macromedia JRun CFusion Server service terminated with service-specific error 2 (0x2)."

The cfusion-out.log and admin-out.log each show this error:

"The system property -Dsun.io.useCanonCaches=false must be defined to start a server."

Tried extending the starttimeout as suggested in an old technote (tn_18799) but that didn't help.

Any ideas?

CF version 7.02 running under windows server 2003 with IIS. Multiserver configuration, i.e. running under JRUN. Other than MS updates nothing else installed for a long time.

Thanks

It turned out that that the file jrun4/bin/jvm.config had mysteriously disappeared. Once I restored it the server started up fine.
