Question
Coldfusion vs Sharepoint
Well, my customer dropped a bomb shell on me today. They are
considering moving from Coldfusion to SharePoint for their large
Intranet site. Unfortunately, the IS Manager wears Microsoft
underwear, where as I believe in open systems and future options
(hence I run a Mac and use MySQL as their Coldfusion database).
I have a few opinions, but I need to build a case for them to remain with Coldfusion. So I am asking the Coldfusion community to give me your reasons for staying with Coldfusion. I am not as interested in opinions, but in some tangible facts that I can use to sway their decision. Any links to good and current material would be appreciated. I am particularly interested in any links to documents that point towards Microsoft loosing faith or pulling back on SharePoint.
The original Intranet Site was SharePoint. It was like trying to program with one of your hands tied behind your back. It was an earlier version (used to be called SharePoint Team V.1), and I made the switch to Coldfusion 5 years ago. So I do have experience with both platforms.
Your help and input is appreciated.
