Please provide detailed steps to configure ColdFusion 10 and IIS 7.5, each residing on different machines.

Does IIS services need to be enabled on the CF box as well, even though we want to have the IIS 7.5 websites on a different machine?

You will have to configure ColdFusion 10 with IIS 7.5 to use a network share as the webroot.
