Confused about encryption standard vs enterprise

Hello, in the documentation for the decrypt/encrypt functions it mentions that the enterprise edition offers more robust cryptography options as far as algos, etc but then it goes on to say that the standard edition works with all of the ones listed in the parameters list. So I guess what I need to know is if standard edition works with AES256?
