Create PDF watermark

In a separate post I received helpful information on how to add a watermark to a PDF file.

Is it possible to generate a watermark at the time of print?  What we'd like is to say "This document is only valid on <print date>".

The documents won't be printed often, but if someone does print it, it is then considered an uncontrolled document.
