Dear All,

We need to change the passwords of 25 datasources on 12 application servers. What is the best way of doing it.

Can we  change the password on the fly . The problem is when i change the password on ORACLE user the application will not recognise it

In our organization  ORACLE is managed by one department and Coldfusion by another department.

Changing of password always gets us into trouble and two departments do not trust each other i mean decision is required so that password managment in handled by DBA's only.

Before DBA's take this job, i want to know how we can change the passwords on quarterly basis without shutting down coldfusion instances.

i hope i am able to explain my requirement. (i am  a DBA with no knowlege about coldfusion unfortunately)

please help me to find the solution

regards

Aijaz

Use the CF Admin API to simultaneously change all your application server's database passwords.
