Downgrade cf11 to cfmx7?

we have a website on cfmx7 and are looking to move it to a dedicated server and therefore need to purchase the latest cf software, but we do not want to amend the code.  Is it possible to buy a cf11 licence but downgrade it to cfmx7?

    I am afraid you will not be able to downgrade to CFMX 7 from ColdFusion 11. Check the Adobe's backward licensing policy here

    Amend the code. Trust me, preserving CFMX7 is not worth it.

    You can contact Adobe licensing about that, but I doubt that they will downgrade it to a version no longer under core support.  How about downloading the CF11 trial and running it in Developer Edition mode?  Then test your existing code on it to see if it even needs to be ammended.
