ehcache large dataset limits

Im looking at using ehcache to cache some very large datasets. Im planning to use ehcache regions with eternal and diskPersistent settings turned on.  Would it be unwise to allow my ehcache regions to grow into a TB size worth of data? At what point would it be too big? Could I in theory have a 150 TB ehcache region without a performance degradation?
