We have been using CFMX7 (7.012) for several years. We recently had to rebuild our Web server and now the CF Administrator page does not load. We receive the following error in FirFox "

Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)

We did a single server install on a Win2003 Enterprise Server. The CFIDE directory is located in the Default Website Directory. I am stumped. Anyone have any ideas. I have already uninstalled and re-installed CFMX and it still does not work. Please assist if you can. All of our company sites are Coldfusion and we are nable to set the DataSources.

Does your web server respond to simple HTML requests?

I would confirm that the DSN and Webserver layers are working as expected before concentrating on the ColdFusion layers.

We are running our own DNS servers with ATT backup. It appears that all is well with the DNS. There are no DNS errors in the Event Logs and we are able to ping the Web server domain name and IP. NSLOOKUP reports the correct informaiton. The web server is ws1.usnexus.net. The DNS servers are NS1/NS2.usnexus.net. Mail servers are also running without issue. The associated ports on the firewalls are all correct. I am not sure where else to go with this. Then again all the "ping" and "nslookup" tests are from within our own network. I appreciate your reply. Is there something I am missing here?

NOTE: We have only uploaded one test web site (html site) to the IIS6/wwwroot directory. However, when we open a browser (not on the server) and enter the server IP number, we receive the default IIS web page. So it appears that the simple HTML request is working.

The site you are trying to view does not currently have a default page. It may be in the process of being upgraded and configured.

Please try this site again later. If you still experience the problem, try contacting the Web site administrator.

If you are the Web site administrator and feel you have received this message in error, please see "Enabling and Disabling Dynamic Content" in IIS Help.

    To access IIS Help
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open text box, type inetmgr. IIS Manager appears.
    3. From the Help menu, click Help Topics.
    4. Click Internet Information Services.
