I am a journalist in Australia with no IT skills.

I am looking for advice re the future of two sites I am responsible for which run on a system developed on the ColdFusion platform.

My developer and others tell me ColdFusion is very 'yesterday', will not be supported into the future, and I need to have the program rewritten in PHP or other languages.

Researching software rewrites delivers a consensus that they are nightmares.

Can any Coldfusioneers give me hope, advice on another pathway, or confirmation that a rewrite is the only real option pls?
