I have a problem restoring to SQL

Windows 8.1 -- MSSQL8 2R

The error code your SQL guy will want to know is MS SQL error 3201.

What am I doing wrong?

This is a ColdFusion forum perhaps you are better posting to a MS SQL forum.

Having said that I think the salient details are - system error 5 (access is denied).

Who are you logged into SQL Studio as when attempting restore? Perhaps try login as "sa".
