I was assigned to develop an application and load it to production

Hello

I am new to html/cold fusion.
So please help me get started.

I was assigned to develop an application and load it to production
But test it first in development.
Well I did develop and tested it in development and it works great!

Now the help that I am asking is,
How to put it in production.
Well, my sup game me a post it with a
Production server name

Somenumber/folder name

All he said was to map to it and put my apps in production.

Thi sis where the confusion comes in. he left for vacation right away so I can not ask anyone. Hahah!

How do I map to it
Set up production
Load my files up to production and then run it and complete it.

Give he address to the users so they can type it in their browser.

thanks again

you've got to have an understanding of how web application servers, domain names, dns, and http servers work. That is beyond the scope of a few quick answers on a forum!

but here goes:

Put the scripts that you have developed in the web root or subfolder for the domain name that you have been delveoping for, on the production web server.

browse to said domain and/or subfolder in web browser and test.

Assuming you are on Windows, use Find to find the computer. Once you find it, right click on the icon and read the pop up menu.

That's the general idea. There may be some issues wrt where you copy it on your production server. There may be some dns considerations as well. These are all internal issues for you.
