IIS6 Metabase Compatability Issues

Sorry if I'm reposting but I thought I found two threads matching  this title yet when I clicked into the result list I couldn't actually  find the threads. So anyway...

My setup:

Windows 2008 x64 R2 (IIS 7.5) > ColdFusion 9 Enterprise (Multiserver JRun Install).

My problem:

It  appears I must enable the "IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility" option in  order to connect IIS websites to CF Instances in the Web Server  Configuration Tool (if I disable it no IIS websites appear in the select  list)

BUT....

If I DO enable that option I cannot  delete the connection in the Web Server Configuration Tool. When I try I  get an error saying, "error deleting IIS application extensions  .jsp,.jws,.cfm,.cfml,.cfc,.cfr,.cfswf,.hbmxml from web site [iis website  name]".

Now this seems like a really huge glaring bug  and defeats the perpose of multi instance if I can't switch an IIS  website to a different CF instance. I'm I doing something wrong or is  there a workaround for this?

If you install the latest update to CF 9, you no longer need to use IIS 6 compatibility.
