Installation Issue

Hello,

We have been using CF for years now and currently have CF5 on Win2K Server SP4. Recently I installed some backup software on a server and I began getting CFApplication crashes. I thought maybe it was due to new files being installed on the server, specifically Dot Net 2.

The error is as follows:
Application popup: cfserver.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x6b0db977" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

If this was the case maybe it was time to upgrade. I downloaded the CF 8 Standard Edition Trial and attempted to install over my CF5 installation. The vendor that Adobe recommended told me that it was no problem.

During the install, at the fourth step to be specific, it asks to add the web server and/or websites. When I click on "Add" I only see Sun and Apache. I have IIS 5.

I don't want to go further afraid that the install will fail and kill my existing CF 5 installation as well. Adobe tech support wanted to charge me for tech support.

Any idea why? Otherwise, are there issues going from 5 to 8?

Thank you,

IIS 5 maybe to old to be officially supported by CF8. Whether this is a
fatal issue or not I am not aware.

The Adobe vendor told me that IIS 5 was supported. Either way, I never got to install CF 8. The error is happening with CF 5.
