Installing CFMX in Parallels on Mac

Hi all,

We've recently acquired a new macbook that runs WinXP using Parallels. My boss is wanting to install CFMX under Windows and has tried both 7.02 and 6.1, while running IIS 5.1. According to him, In both cases the installation has completed successfully, but when creating test pages in Homesite and trying to view them, the pages are "unavailable" as if the server isn't running.

Keeping in mind that all these services and apps (IIS, Homesite, CFMX) are running under WinXP in Parallels, we're wondering if there are any known issues involving CF and Parallels itself. We've gone through the manual web server configuration process and all that to no avail, and Parallels is the only other culprit that I can think of.

If anyone has any insite, we'd be appreciative over here...

Thanks,
Fleet

I've been running CF on Parallels with no problem for roughly 9 months. I found it easier to install and run CF in the Windows environment that I was used to rather than devote all the time and energy needed to install CF on OS X. (Woodward's article is excellent but the installation is still a pain in the butt.)

Was your boss able to start the CF Admin page? I know it sounds like a stupid question but is the CF server running? (I assume that simple html pages are rendering OK) As I recall, the default installation does not cause the CF server to start automatically. You have to start the service manually through the Services window on the Control Panel (you can change it to start automatically.)
