Question

Login prompt on sites default page everytime I install CF

I went through this headache months ago with my Virtual Dedicated Server when I was trying to install Coldfusion 9.  I eventually gave up and reverted back to 8 because after several weeks of pulling out my hair I didn't even come close to finding a solution.  Well, now my hosting company has updated their Plesk version, and I'm getting the same error regardless of whether I try to install CF8 or 9.  Everything is great until I setup IIS under the Web Server Config supplied by the CF install.. then I get login prompt asking for a username and password everytime I try to visit the site.

Currently, the ONLY page on the entire server I can view is the CF Admin page from the server itself... anything outside of that does not work.  Mostly it's SCL errors (when viewed from the server) but I have set all permissions on the vhosts directories, etc.  Still nothing.

I am going out of my mind here.  It took me a long time to realize that I had to use CF 8 instead of 9 last time, and now that my hosting company has upgraded to a new version of Plesk, I am stressed to the max.  My entire business is down because of this and nothing I have tried, googled, searched for in forums, etc. has worked.  I know it's obvioiusly permissions on something, but I have looked everywhere and nothing is pointing me in any sort of direction as to what the issue is.  For the life of me I will never understand why I cannot just install CF to work with IIS without having to do 80 hours of research.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have anonymous authentication enabled for the IIS site?
