    Sigh - here's the cause. It must be started from the terminal using:

    sudo /Applications/ColdFusion8/bin/coldfusion start

    Sorry for the bother folks. I hope this helps out somebody else!

    Update: Hi all, I believe it works fine from the launch application now after CF8.0.1. Had one issue though on the Server which needed a manual move of the CFIDE directory installed by 8.0.1. locally to the server, as the server somehow was not properly updated by CF8.0.1 Updater.

    Hope this helps someone. Apart from that, we're super-happy with CF8 Standard on Mac OS X 10.4.11 Server and Apple XServe (Intel). Blazing fast!

    Yes, it is Leopard, sorry.

    I'd followed the instructions on his page but it didn't work which is why I ended up installing it with its own webserver, not multi-user and not as a a normal server. This was the only install that worked.

    Any thoughts? Anyone? I have to assume that this repeated CFSERVER.LOG entrymeans something:

    Break on __THE_PROCESS_HAS_FORKED_AND_YOU_CANNOT_USE_THIS_COREFOUNDATION_FUNCTIONALITY___YOU_MUST_EXEC__() to debug.
    The process has forked and you cannot use this CoreFoundation functionality safely. You MUST exec().

    but dar ned if I know what or what to do about it!
