I'm trying to install Coldfusion 8.0 Standard on Window Server 2003 R2 w/IIS 6.0. The installation completed (selected default settings) but I got "Service Unavailable" after it re-directed to 127.0.0.1/cfide/administrator/index.cfm.

thanks for all the help...

no, the server does not have any previous version of coldfusion on it. Is there a way to install missing folders in db? I checked db folder and only found "SequeLink Setup" and "sybase" ...

Sounds like you need some serious support from adobe. I have no idea what is going on especially since there were no previous versions. I had a fresh install of windows server 2003 and no problems with cf 8, sounds like your windows 2003 is stuffed. There is no way you would have these problems unless your server is not happy.

Did you install with administrative privilages?

when you are installing cf make sure you have all antivirus and firewall
turned off - otherwise the ports needed to be used and configured by cf
may not be open on your system.

there is always the possibility that your install file is corrupted,
too, especially if it was downloaded...

    CF-Pensioner,

thanks for the reply, the services start and cfide is in wwwroot\ directory.

I noted Coldfusion 8 ODBC services did not install instead it installed Coldfusion MX ODBC services.

That sounds very strange. Did you upgrade from a previous version of Coldfusion? If so, did you get the upgrade version? Cuz it sounds like there is something left of the previous version.

    Hey NewGuy,

I would make sure that the Coldfusion Application server is actually running.

Got to control panel - administrative tools - services. Look for a service called Coldfusion 8 Application Server. Check and see if it says started. If not try and start it by clicking on the button at the top that has the tooltip, "Restart Service".

Also, when you installed it did you tell Coldfusion to put the CFIDE folder in the wwwroot of your application?

If not that could also be your problem.
