As a new comer I would like to suggest you to follow  Adobe ColdFusion 9 CFML Reference ,then Developing Adobe ColdFusion 9 Applications for good documentation.

http://cflib.org/ this is a site which has many custom functions that

people often need (string formating, list manipulation, etc)

http://www.coldfusionbloggers.org/ this is an aggregation of several hundred

CF bloggers. Good material daily here and takes you to their blogs.
