There is an error in the e-mail that Adobe sends you when you sign up to try ColdFusion 2025. The e-mail welcomes you to ColdFusion 2023. Not good, especially image-wise. You don't want to confront the customer with an error from the very start.

I tried to submit it in Adobe Tracker. But, alas, that was not possible. Tracker itself has a bug.

So, here.

Problem Description:
Suppose you have just sent the form to sign up to try ColdFusion 2025. You will then get an e-mail acknowledgement from Adobe. The e-mail welcomes you to the 2023 Trial instead.

Steps to Reproduce:
Fill and send the form to sign up to try ColdFusion 2025. The form is at https://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/download-trial/try.html .

Actual Result:
You will, within a minute or two, get an e-mail acknowledgement from Adobe. The e-mail welcomes you to the ColdFusion 2023 Trial. See attached printscreen.

Expected Result:
The e-mail should welcome you to the ColdFusion 2025 Trial instead.

Here's an important matter related to the new subscription model that's a bit unclear: does it include what used to be available seperately as "preimum " or even "platinum" support?

My understanding is that for those who got that, they were essentially "paying monthly in advance for the next release" (which clearly the subscription will do instead) and getting as a bonus this direct Adobe support (which was different from just updates or the kind of public support offered).

And I'm encouraged in this matter, in that I see that the Enterprise version of the FAQ page has a section for "Customers with Existing M&S", where that refers to "maintenance and support". The answer to the first question (for those who paid for that separate feature) says:

Your M&S contract remains valid until its expiration date. You will get the subscription offer of the 2025 release until the contract expiration date. After that, we encourage you to transition to the ColdFusion subscription, which provides continuous updates, premium support, and streamlined licensing.

I've added the underlining to the last sentence, which is what seems encouraging to me. The implication is that this subscription licensing of CF WILL include premium support (separately from updates, as it notes). And if that's true, it's a plus about the subscription (and it perhaps explains why the pricing I shared earlier today here is just a bit higher per year than the previous cost for just upgrading at discount on each release.)

Since we had no insight into any of this info about the subscription model, that's why we are now having to seek clarification starting with the release of this info today.

And if it IS true that subscription includes "premium support", it sure seems that should be heralded more clearly...though we also need to better understand just what that entails and how to leverage it, for the sake of those who never had it previously. (And I realize it may be offered in info given to people when they PURCHASE CF, but it seems reasonable to at least be able to learn a bit more about it before purchase--again if it's indeed part of the benefit of the subscription. I'm just trying to interpret the above.)

And I don't hold it against anyone that it's not yet been made more clear. This is new for all of us, and sometimes folks on the inside don't readily appreciate what we on the outside don't know. 🙂

PS That section about "M&S" is not currently in the Standard version of the faq. I've reported that separately, as it seems just be an oversight.

well i dont upgrade my coldfusion every year. Certainly not going to pay for a yearly license. I will be looking for alternative after 20 years. Adobe killed Premiere (its dead they just havent figured it out yet) by this pricing model.
