Open CF Admin

New to cf/dw... was tasked to modify a project by adding some entry forms linked to a SQL db. I setup the dbs on the SQL server... setup the existing site in DW with a local (C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\Site 1\) and remote (\\Remote\c$\Inetpub\wwwroot\) view, but I can't connect to the CF Admin to tie in the data sources. My testing server show up as red but this is the only config that will allow me to even use the Modify Data Sources button.(testing server folder - C:\CFusionMX\wwwroot\dwcf\) (URL- http://localhost:8500/dwcf/) When I click on the MDS button it opens a folder of files on the Site. Everything I read says it should open the CF Admin pane to identify data sources and conection parameters. Any ideas to get me to that stage? I searched around and I don't even show CF in my programs with an startup link, but the RDS login seems to allow me to view data sources as a folder ( http://localhost:8500/site%201/).

Got my data source connected. I can connect to the SQL db using code, but I still would like to use the testing server and RDS login so I can view the data sources in DW. Any ideas for the testing server path so I can open the RDS login info?

Have you enabled RDS? You can then access RDS from Dreamweaver.

OK...I have CF8, it is running...I changed the site info and am using the remote site as my local view (no remote view) ... turns out it was at:
http://Remote:8500/CFIDE/administrator/datasources/index.cfm

Don't tell me you're trying to fire up MX6. I would lay that musket aside and go for MX7.0.2 or CF8.0.1

point your browser to
http://localhost:8500/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm

that should load CF Admin. set up your datasources there, then connect
to them in DW if you need to.

I get the CF Error box "error occured while processing..."

could my network folks have port 8500 blocked???
stack trace shows java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
-runs jrunx and jrun routines, but when it gets to 'at coldfusion.' items it shows (unknown source)
