PMT performance monitoring tool on same server as ColdFusion?

We have 2 load balanced ColdFusion servers, and want to use PMT Performance Monitoring Toolset.

 

The advice from Adobe : 

For deploying in production, it is recommended that Performance Monitoring Toolset must be deployed separately from a ColdFusion server.

 

If we install on one of the ColdFusion server how much of an impact would it have? Marginal or a total no-no?

    If you care enough about measuring server performance to actually do it, you don't want to do it from the servers whose performance you want to measure! Even if it just provides a marginal impact in some cases, you won't actually be able to find that out because you're running the monitor on the CF server.
