Problems installing Coldfusion 9

I'm experiencing difficulties installing the developer version of Coldfusion 9. After installing, I get to the admin login screen to configure the server. After entering the password, the browser appears to hang before timing out.

The error message I get is 'The request has exceeded the allowable time limit Tag: cfoutput.' I can't enable more debugging information as I can't even get to the admin portal.

The server previously had Coldfusion 8, which was working fine. I did plan to have both editions running concurrently while I tried out v.9 but after experiencing a succession of installation problems I removed it. I've rebooted the machine several times and installed/uninstalled CF9 with no success.

If anyone can assist I would greatly appreciate it.

    Hi,

Are you using IIS (or) the Built-in webserver?. What were you using for CF8 and what you configured CF9?

If you are using IIS, then uninstall your existing version(s) and do a fresh installation again, and try to configure the "Built-in webserver" when you are asked to do so.

Also make sure that you are not receiving any messages (in the installtion window) like "I understand there were errors during installtion", and if it occurs. then check out the log file that is being displayed there.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'm using IIS on Windows 2003 and there weren't any error messages on install. However, thanks for the suggestion about the built-in web server. I'll try and see if that works out.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Coldfusion's web server either. Same error message as on IIS.
