Read only user name

Has anyone every run into a situation where the username field on the administration login page goes grey and is read only? Also the default value for the user name seems to be the host name for some reason? Weird.

    The username field on the login page is read-only if the CF Admin’s Security>Administrator page setting for “ColdFusion Administration Authentication” is set to “Use a single password only (default)”.

    As for the default login username (as shown there) being set to something other than “admin”, that’s not something one can change in the CF admin itself. See this technote for perhaps how your host may have done that:
