Setting up core in SOLR

Can someone explain how to set up a core in SOLR in coldfusion? I delted the core that was there (don't ask...) and now no cores are available. I can get to the screen that says Add Core but I don't know what to put for the various fields. In particular, the instanceDir and dataDir.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Nevermind. Just creating a new Collection causes ColdFusion to create a core. Seems rather unintuitive since the Solr control panel has a Create Core option. But, whatever works I guess...
