Question

Still in the package ;-)

I’m basically embarrassed to ask this question but, you know the old adage . . .

I’m trying to add a new data source to CF8 using the MySQL(4/5) driver and when I click add it asks for the Database and Server. I’m guessing (and it’s just a wind guess at that) that the Database would be MySQL and the Server would CF8 but, what’s the syntax? Since I’m so new to this stuff that I’m still in the package can anyone supply an answer?

i have never use the WAMP package, but from i could google up it looks
like it leaves the password blank at install time... so use root as
username and leave password blank, i guess...

Azadi,

Thanks, that did help, but it appears I have another problem now. . . It seems that when I installed MySQL,PHP and Apache using Wamp Server 2.0 the install doesn't request a password for setting up the MySQL database. This causes CF to gives me an error of something like "root@localhost using password=yes". . . I believe I need to enter and configure a password for the database.

Do you know the steps for correcting this?
Thanks again,

actually, no.
database is the name of your mysql database
server is [usually] localhost with port 3306 - basically a server/port
mysql is running on

fyi, username and password are for accessing the mysql database, not cf
administrator :)
