Question

Sub Report Padding

I have embedded a sub report into my main report.

I am putting my sub report flush left and top of the Detail band, but when I generate the report, it is positioned down and to the right. It looks like there is top and left padding of the sub report but I can't find settings for this anywhere.

Does anyone know how to display a sub report against the left and top of the page without the 'padding'?

Thanks in advance.

Jason

Hi Daverms,

Just looking at it.. "Report" for the Sub Reports is set to height of 29 cm.

I'm guessing that could have been contributing to my problem. But I will never know I guess as I have given report builder away. Finding scripting reports a billion times easer, trouble free and quicker.

Thanks for your help though Daverms

Thanks again!

Hi Jason,

Which version of CF you are using there?...

If you are using CFMX7 then you *must* install the cumulative hotfix in order to avoid all the pitfalls of using the sub reports.

Please refer Dean's site here

mw916, thank you so much for your input. It is great to know this tool is being used and I'm not the only one having issues.

I ended up giving up on Report Builder for this project. I just had to move on. Ended up scripting the report and had it done and delivered in 2 days (compared to 2 weeks of fighting with Report Builder).

I will definately use report builder again though (it has some good points), and will give your suggestions a try.

Thanks again !

Does your subreport have margins? Remove all margins from a subreport and see if that helps. Otherwise, margins stack up and it ain't pretty.
