Question

Switching IDEs

I have been using DW for my CF development for years and thought it was time to look at switching to Eclipse. I am having some difficulties in locating a tutorial, instructions, etc. for install. Here is what I would like...an environment where I can work on CF, HTML, AJAX and be able to FTP to production. In looking around the net, I figured I should install Eclipse, CFEclipse and the Aptana plugin. I did that and am running into errors. Has anyone out there run into any issues with this, have resources that were helpful to them, etc.?

I am getting erros such as Launch Install Wizard has encountered a problem java.lang.NullPointerException. IO exception when contacting server, unable to connect with Aptana db...and others.

Thanks in advance,

~Clay

Why not go with CF Builder? It is much easier to install and

configure. Nearly everyone has problems setting up and configuring

Eclipse the first time they do it. The best solution I found is to

have someone that has already done it do it for you.

The simple answer is cost. How does CF Builder handle non-CF stuff...AJAX, etc?
