Upgrade serial number fails on 64-bit RedHat

Support wants to charge me $249 to have someone answer this question, so I am trying here...

My CF8 upgrade key works fine, using my old CF6/MX key, when installing on 32-bit RedHat 32-bit Linux.

Now I've downloaded/installed the 64-bit CF8 on RedHat 64-bit Linux. When I try to enter my upgrade key, using same previous CF6/MX key, I just get the error "This combination of license keys does not constitute a valid upgrade."

Known issue? Bug? Any ideas??

Probably upgrading from a 32 bit version to a 64 version, isn't considered as an upgrade.

That's not really what I'm doing. Yes, MX was only 32-bit. But AFAIK I should be able to upgrade using an MX serial number to CF8 64-bit - no??

This may or may not be relevant (you message doesn't say if you're

running Standard or Enterprise) but CF8 64-bit is an Enterprise

feature and not available in CF8 Standard.
