Upgrade to CF10 - PDF's on IE different behaviour

Hi everyone, we're in the process of updating our servers from CF8 to 10.  We've only done one so far, which has allowed us time to compare/contrast/fix issues.

We've noticed that before, on IE, pdf files would open right in the browsers.  Oddly enough, on the CF 10 server, it now always prompt to save.  IIS settings prior to the CF10 install did not change, and we're not aware of anything that CF would have done there.

Has anyone else encountered something like this, or able to replicate it?

This has nothing to do with CF10.  This is a known issue with IE 10 and the Adobe Reader plugin.  See this Adobe Acrobat forum post.

That would be the simple answer, it's true, however as I mentioned, we've got two servers, and the same version of IE behaves differently with the same cfdocument code.

Are the servers running the same OS version and Windows updates?  Are they both running the same version of Adobe Reader?  Have the same IE updates been applied to both servers?  Is it possible the Adobe Reader installation on your CF10 server is corrupt so that IE can no longer use the plugin to open PDFs?  Has the Adobe Reader plugin been disabled in IE by mistake?
