Question

Upgraded from CF7 to CF8, now dynamic .pdfs are incredibly slow.

We upgraded our server from CF7 to CF8.01 and are having issues with our dynamic .pdf's. These pdfs query a database for data, and a document server for images. What used to take 1-2 seconds to generate, now takes 30+ seconds. We use CFDocument to output to the .pdfs. What changed in version 8? How can I fix this? I really really really don't want to roll back to CF7, but if that's the fix, then I will. Argh....

enabled RDS, and applied the hot fix again, and restarted services. Says it updated on the screen, but still no entry listed for cf8010001.jar. Any suggestions?

If you are on the System Information page in the ColdFusion Administrator and don't see any occurrence of "chf8010001.jar" on that page, you haven't applied the cumulative hotfix.

It should actually be listed in 2 places. Next to "Update Level" and in "Java Class Path"

Argh.. no updates listed. Aren't hot fixes updated via this same page where I update the file? I did this, but it doesn't seem to have done the hot fix (and, I don't think the hot fix even addresses this issue)

Click on the blue i in the upper-right corner of the ColdFusion Administrator. Next to "Update Level", it will list the latest update. It should read chf8010001.jar if you've applied the hotfix.

We are on version 8,0,1,195765 . I don't think there is anything newer is there?

Instead of a http to the dynamic image, we use file:. Is this still ok?
