Upgrading multi-server 7.02 to 8.01

I am trying to upgrade 7.02 multiserver installation to 8.01 multiserver. I couldn't find any documentation so I went ahead and tried it, but it didn't seem to work. Has anyone seen specific information on upgrading a multiserver installation?

JRun Updater 7 is *supposed* to give you a CF8 class JRun4 install. But I don't believe it based on some of the issues I'm having on an older server versus a newer server.

You're going to have to export and then reimport your datasources. That's about the only way I've found since they've tinkered with neo-query setup.

Also, any easy way to copy my datasources over from 7.02 to 8.01? I tried copying the neo-query.xml file but 8.01 didn't seem to recognize it.

Thanks. I removed 7 and installed 8.01. JRUN configuration manager, after the 8.01 install, shows a build number 108673. Another machine I ran the JRUN updater 7 on shows a build number 108621 (a lower build number). So it looks like the fresh 8.01 install includes JRUN updater 7, correct?

I'd second the remove and reinstall for a 7 to 8 upgrade. JRun4 (from CF7 or 6 even), updater 7 with CF8 is a little cranky.

CF8 behaves much much nicer on a fresh JRun4 install.

    The short set of instructions:
    1. Install JRun 4 Updater 7.
    2. Install CF 8.0.1 following the instructions for updating a CF 8 install.
    3. Update Java to a 1.6 JDK.

It really is easier to remove and install.

Thanks Jochem, but I'm not seeing it in the release notes about upgrading a multiserver implementation of a previous version:

It is all right there in the release notes: undeploy your instance and
redeploy with CF 8.01 and repeat for each instance.

You do realize that a mere CF upgrade will only upgrade CF, not JRun or
the JDK. To get all the benefits you still need to run the JRun Updater
    7 and update to a 1.6 JDK.
