Upgrading OS

I am using MX7 on Windows 2003 standard. If I upgrade to Windows 2003 Enterprise will there be any issues? I work for a state college, so I have no choice in upgrading to a more current version of CF.

If it's genuinely that much of a concern, you should be trying it first on a development setup. Out of interest, how are you able to upgrade to Windows Enterprise but not a more recent version of CF?

I don't think you will have an issue. The differences between Standard and Enterprise Windows should not affect CF.

BTW... I too work for a state college and I have been using ColdFusion 9 and Windows 2008 R2 for over a year. Any policy that prevents you from upgrading is a foolish one that needs to be questioned and changed. ColdFusion 7 is no longer supported by Adobe and could (probably does) have performance and security issues that will likely never be addressed. Such a policy would be akin to a policy that states you cannot upgrade from Windows XP (also no longer supported) to something more modern (Windows 7 would be the obvious choice).

    Hi,

I expect CF7 with Win 03 Standard upgrade to Win 03 Enterprise should be just fine so long as the Win 03 remains 32 bit. The webserver in use might have a bearing on the matter when performing the upgrade so I guess if you know you are using CF built-in or IIS or apache you should be able to manage that process well.
