upgrading standard edition

hi
We are debating getting enterprise or standard edition of CF 8.
How easy is it to upgrade to enterprise if we purchased and ran standard edition. We may upgrade in the future if we see the need to get enterprise edition?

Thanks

It is as simple as paying your money and then inputting the new license to the coldfusion administrator. That will upgrade a coldfusion standard server to a coldfusion enterprise server and unlock any missing features like the enterprise database drivers. However, many of the most compelling reasons to use enterprise are the Java, J2EE and multi-server features. These would require clean installations as a multi-server or J2EE deployment.

So, the basic upgrade is very simple. However, you may want to consider if multi-server, clustering or other J2EE features are going to be needed or useful. If so, you may want to do your initial deployment to that environment and build it up as required.
