Verity Categories / Trees

I define a Collection with Categories enable, Index several folders, specifying a different CATEGORY for each, using action=update. Yet when I do a categorylist, there are no categories defined. The documents do get indexed and I can use cfsearch with no category and find the documents. Does the Developer Edition not support this or something? I noted the Administrator index function did not provide a space to specify a category either which makes me suspect the Developer Edition does not support categories/trees.

This is a known issue with Verity 5.5. After creating the collection try indexing it using the refresh option first . After that you should be able to perform either update or refresh actions.

I am having a similar problem.
I define a collection with category support, index some documents, search the documents, index some more documents, search the documents again and the categories seem to line up correctly in the category list. However, once I start optimizing, my categories get messed up. I'm currently experimenting with indexing, searching and optimizing in different combinations (index, optimize, index, search; index, search, index, optimize, search; etc.). Some combinations mess up the categories, some do not. Any ideas?

I'm running ColdFusion MX 7,0,2,142559.
I also found the following technote ( http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=aae43964) which seems to relate to my issue, except that it's directed to version 7.0.1.
