Has anyone else come across CFSearch returning incorrect context text with some PDFs? Rather than returning the true context it just shows the start of the document.

I have not had that problem. However I have converted my documents using Acrobat 7.0, that may make the difference.

I am having this same problem with the results returned from a Verity Search of PDF documents. The "context" text that is returned by CF does not contain the searched for term. The "context" contains relevant info when searching DB info, but not when searching PDF info.

    How can this be fixed?

Josh, did you find a resolution on this? I am currently implementing Verity for the first time on my company's Website, and am seeing this issue with some pdf's.

The context does not contain the search term(s), but if I open the pdf, the search term is found within the document. I just can't figure out why the context doesn't contain the search terms.

    Thanks,

What do you mean with context text ? The summary ? The summary is generated automatically by CF when you index the collection and can contain or not the keyword that is being searched.

No, not the summary but the text returned when you set the CFSearch contextpassages parameter to 1 or greater.
