Very strange issue cf licenced, jrun reverted to developer edition

Hi helpful folks...

I have a very strange issue.

About a month ago we upgraded from CF7 enterprise on Jrun to CF8 enterprise on one of our servers (we actually did several but only one has this problem).

Today for various reasons we decided that we needed to increase the maximum heap size.

Logging into the Jrun Management console I can see the scary words - "Trial edition has expired; reverted to developer edition."

So I checked the CF administrator, this is showing that I'm running enterprise edition.

The site is currently running without problem (needs to increase the max heap but I can delay that).

Now I have my licence key for the CF8 upgrade but I'm nervous about applying the change that I was going to as well I want to be certain that things aren't going to disappear.

Anyone got any thoughts or do I need to contact Adobe.

Other useful bits of information:

I didn't do the upgrade and the person who did is on holiday, so I can't confirm exactly how it was done.

I don't know if JRun has been reporting as developer edition since the original install of CF7

This will be no help to you, but I have had the same thing happen before, too.

The key that JRun needs is a different format to a CF licence key, so I could not work out what to put in for the JRun key.

I did not find an ideal resolution, I simply - and hastily (it was a production server!!) - resinstalled CF with the correct licence key.

    Not an ideal solution.

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for that, at least someone else has seen it, re-assuring me that I'm not going completely insane.

This is a critical time for the client and the outage caused by a re-install would be a pain, but I'd rather do that at a time of my controlling than find that something happened, the server re-started and I have to do it at what would have been a really busy time.

Thanks again and hoping someone out there knows a solution.
