Question

What's the situation with Fusetalk Inc

Hello

not sure if this is the right place to ask this, apologies if not. I downloaded the evaluation edition of Fusetalk, installed it Ok and received what I suppose is an automated email from a sales advisor.

Seems like a great product. But I'm not inclined to part with my money after receiving no response to a thrice-sent support request. I'm not trying to disparage them here, but I'm not sure what the score is, so I wonder if someone could simply confirm whether or not they are still in business/active?

Thanks

Dave S

re: Php has too many squiggles and bits, give
    me cfml any day!

Always thought that was a funny reason to like cf - there's way too much
extra bit s in cf ! I have to put peask "<cf" in from of of everything. I
have to do "##" (two hashes) instead of "$" (one time) CF is a pain in the
    arse imho

If you don't like squiggles and bit then you should get over it :) You don't
go far in web without javascript - so you need those squiggles and bits I'm
    afraid.

Yes, thanks. I was just wondering if I was emailing an office of whirling computers that no human had set foot in for a thousand years.

It's a shame that there's a dearth of coldfusion scripts available compared to some great php ones such as Phorum. Php has too many squiggles and bits, give me cfml any day!

thats one of the big issues with CF - there are relatively few third party
apps, adn most of them suck.

Who cares if they are active?!

If they are not responsive to YOU now, why would you want to give them your (or more) money?

Frankly, I've never thought much of FuseTalk. This forum runs on it and (1) fails all the time (2) performs sluggishly when it works (3) has super-sucky archive design (4) has lousy search functionality and (5) lacks many modern features that make a forum work well.

    I second MikeRoos comments.
I had two clients who struggled trying to keep their FT forums from dieing under heavy load, so we switched to a php forum ( bites tongue!). Email support from FT resulted mostly in canned responses that seemed like the person on the other end didn't even read the email that they replied to.
