Question

Which version of CFusion to run on Win10Pro and IIS 8.

I'm running Windows10Pro on my development server with IIS 8.  I'm wanting to run ColdFusion server on this machine.  The site running on it will have a CF application with an Access database behind it.  Eventually, when it goes Production on another machine, the database will be MSSQL.

Which version of CFusion should I install?

Cheers

Roy

When you ask "which version", that can mean many things. But let me say first that ANY version will serve those requirements.

    As for which version:

    • do you mean CF2023 vs cf2021 vs cf2018, etc?
    • And/or do you mean whether to buy the Standard or Enterprise edition?
    • Or might you be considering the free 30 day trial or the free Developer edition?
    • And/or might you be asking whether to use the full installer? Or might you be considering the "zip" install option, new since cf2021?
    • There's even the docker image option, but I don't suspect you mean that.

I'm not meaning to overwhelm you. And I realize you may not know the differences among all these options. We can't know. 🙂

Again, if you DO know them, ANY of them would do what you seek.

So let us know what questions may remain. (BTW, you'd be running IIS 10 on Windows 10, rather than IIS 8. And all recent versions of cf support IIS 10.)

    Thanks for your reply Charlie.

I'd be looking for the Developer edition, full install, as I'll be running it purely in Development mode, on my local network.  As all the newer versions support IIS 10,  I would suppose CF2023.

Where could I get a download of this please?

    Cheers

coldfusion.com, which redirects to the Adobe CF site where they offer the cf2023 trial...but note there's in fact only one installer, whether you'd plan to be using the trial, putting in a license key, or using the free Developer edition. You'll be asked to choose during the install.
