Will CF 8 still function with SQL 2008 or 2012

We are not having any issues but other applications on the server need to work on SQL management 2008 or greater platform.  So we are trying to find out if we have to upgrade our CF 8 to a newer version or not.  Currently, our current setup is working fine.
