Question

Would you make a whole app in Flash Forms?

I'm interested in building a certain application for the web. From a presentation standpoint, it's mostly data in/data out. Just a basic business application. I can see Flash forms really coming in handy. Some of the forms will be complex enough that the flash forms will make them really sweet. I can also imagine a number of shortcomings. But if I go down the flash road, I'd like to keep all forms in Flash exclusively, for the sake of look and feel. I know it depends on the application needs, but does anyone think this is impractical? Also, I have just about zero interest in learning or applying any ActionScript.

Thanks

You should also consider using AJAX capabilities in CF8. I looked at Flex and felt it was too much for my team's skillset at this time. I'm sure the ease of use will improve as it matures and I don't rule Flex out for future development.

if your app UI just "sits there" (ie doesn't need refreshing, navigating to
other pages, etc) then i'd suggest this is really the only practical "heavy" use
of flash forms. if your app needs a lot of page refreshes, navigation, etc. then
i'd suggest this isn't such a good idea, the compiling, d/l won't be such a joy
    for users.

frankly, if you're considering this much flash forms, i'd just go w/flex.

Thank you for the advice. Can you briefly explain why Flex would be a better alternative? And my only interest in using Flash forms (or flash anything) is the general appearance as well as the ability to create a somewhat more complex form with tabs and such. Using flash is otherwise not a necessity.

    Thanks again.
