Yep, Eizo Coloredge is the brand and type to choose

benQ also offers 'hardware calibration' but you are compelled to use their, frankly ineffective, software tools to access that. Or use something like the excellent basICColor display software which has rescued many a benQ owner BUT cannot access the hardware calibration you paid extra for.

Since NEC was bought up by Sharp and discontinued their excellent PA-series displays, the only remaining serious alternative is Eizo.

I would recommend CS 2731 as ideal for photography, at around $1300.

If you're doing graphic design (InDesign/Illustrator), a 4K screen might be worthwhile. Then you're looking at the CS 2740 at around $1800.

ColorNavigator software is downloaded separately from Eizo. It connects directly to the monitor and performs all adjustments directly in the monitor's internal graphic processor. This known as "hardware calibration" and is vastly superior to standard calibrators which do it all in the video card.

ColorNavigator supports all colorimeters on the market. You can also buy the monitor with colorimeter included.

Please, do keep a bit of money to illuminate / set the lightning of the working space properly (in a reasonable way). Many people tend to forget this simple step.

Both EIZO and NEC make color-calibrated monitors that have built-in tools to calibrate them.  BenQ also has some good models but you will have to have a separate calibration tool.  Look for an Adobe 98 coverage or close and you will have one of the better displays.
